Detailed Design & Shop Drawings
This is the volume work: taking a consultant's concept or schematic design and producing the construction-ready package underneath it. Coordinated layouts, sections and details, in your title blocks, to your sheet numbering, at a rate that lets you commit to a programme without hiring. We also produce as-built documentation from site markups at the back end of the project.
Scope of work
- Detailed design development from concept, schematic or tender-stage documentation
- Shop drawing production for MEP and ELV packages, floor by floor and zone by zone
- Composite and coordinated services drawings, with clash checks against structure and architecture
- Builder's work in connection drawings: penetrations, plinths, openings
- Sections, elevations and installation details at plant rooms, risers and congested areas
- Equipment room and plant room layouts with maintenance access verification
- Material take-offs and BOQ production traceable to the drawing set
- As-built documentation from marked-up site prints or point cloud references
Capacity without headcount
The reason consultants and contractors outsource shop drawings is rarely capability — it is the shape of the workload. Drawing production arrives in peaks that do not justify permanent hires, and a peak missed is a programme missed. We hold a core team plus a vetted specialist pool, so a package can scale from two drafters to eight inside a week and scale back down when the peak passes, with no severance conversation on your side.
Rolling issue, not big-bang delivery
Large packages are issued in agreed increments — by floor, by zone or by system — so your review load is spread and site gets working drawings for the areas that are ready. Each increment carries its own drawing register and revision status, and the register is the single source of truth for what has been issued, what is under review and what has been superseded.
Coordination is a deliverable, not a by-product
Composite drawings are produced as part of the package, not as an afterthought. Where we find a clash we cannot resolve within the design intent — a duct that cannot pass under a beam at the required ceiling height, a riser too small for the services routed through it — it goes into a written query log with a proposed resolution and a marked-up extract, and it stays open until you close it.
Your standards from the first sheet
Before the first sheet is drawn we set up the template: title block, layer standard, symbol library, line weights, text styles, sheet numbering and revision conventions. We ask for a sample sheet from a project you have already issued and match it. The point of outsourcing is a package that looks like your work, because as far as your client is concerned, it is.
